Kids: How to Deal with Divorce?

Sometimes it’s hard being a kid. Things that seem so simple are apparently very complicated. Marriage and divorce are two of those things that seem so easy to understand: if they are your parents, they should stay together, because they love each other and they love you. Unfortunately, this is not how it works in the real world.

Perhaps they fight too much, maybe one person did something bad, maybe they just don’t get along together. Whatever the case, it can be difficult to accept. Most kids do not want their parents to get divorced, but the fact is that these things sometimes happen.

Sometimes, kids think that it is their fault that their parents are getting divorced. This is not the case; it is not your fault. Your parents have known each other a long time, longer than you were born. They love you and want to keep you safe. The other thing to keep in mind is that you cannot fix your parents’ marriage. Marriage is a complicated thing, something so complicated that divorce is becoming more and more common.

Just remember, things will be okay in the end.
